Everybody Needs Compassion
Compassion – A deep awareness of and sympathy for another’s suffering, also defined as the humane quality of understanding the suffering of others and wanting to do something about it.
I don’t know about you, but I prefer the latter definition. Everybody needs compassion.
There are those around us who are suffering. Those around us who simply need another human being to demonstrate to them what no one else ever has – compassion.
Compassion starts with lending your ear. In order to be compassionate for a person you must first understand their plight. Then, you do something about it.
Compassion may come in the form of sponsoring a child from an underprivileged country or giving a homeless person a blanket.
Compassion may come knocking on your door on a cold winter’s night. It comes when you least expect it. It comes from within your heart.
How can you pass on a little compassion today?
