Everybody Needs Forgiveness
Forgiveness is typically defined as the process of ceasing to feel resentment, indignation or anger for a perceived offense, difference or mistake, and ceasing to demand punishment or restitution. (Wikipedia)
Three nights ago my oldest daughter did the most renown tricks of all kids. She asked her father permission and was rejected. Then she went to me, and asked the same, I of course agreed. My daughter proceeded to flash the object of her want in front of my husband and then wondered why she had been sent to her room for discpline. Later, she appologized to her father after she understood the mistake she had made.Often times, there are people in our lives who have made mistakes. Those mistakes cause anger, indignation, and resentment to flare in the other party. My husband was angry our daughter had disobeyed him, and rightly so. Once my daughter understood her mistake, made restitution, the process of forgiveness had taken place. Is there anyone in your life who you need to enter the process of forgiveness with? Is it a parent or sibling you haven’t spoken to in a very time? Perhaps an old friend you’ve been missing? Or a stranger you see often and have never paused long enough to learn their name? Everybody needs forgiveness. Today, search your heart, who are you angry at? Who has caused resentment to build inside you?
Release it, and pass on forgiveness to somebody today.
