Pass It On Spur of the Moment

Published by mrschadt under Looking Out Edit This

This past week everything has been falling apart and breaking in my home.  It started with the annoying doorbell - the one I’ve mentioned a time or two before.  Then it moved on to our bathroom lights, my husband’s laptop, our hot-water heater, and then yesterday our cordless phone.

Call it a  stream of bad luck, the enemy knocking on our door, or we could blame it one little elves - what ever best suits the situation right?  Yet, each situation happened in the spur of the moment.

In the spur of the moment, or a flick of a switch my bathroom lights stop working, the door bell stopped ringing only to ring again refusing to stop.  In the spur of the moment my hot-water tank started leaking, and my husband’s laptop stopped cooperating when ever he wanted to type.

There are a lot of bad things that happen to us in the spur of a moment.  Sometimes it feels as if our whole world is going to come crashing down.  And yet, our bathroom lights were easily repaired with a few new internal parts.  Our phone, only needed a new cord.  Our doorbell got a new button, and hopefully soon the plumber will arrive to repair our hot water tank.  My husband’s laptop will be sent out for repair.  Out of the spur of the moment blunders, tragedities, and mishaps comes a little bit of good.

After-all, my door bell no longer goes off at 3am, my phone works to receive the calls of friends, and I’ve never had more light in my bathroom than I do now.  Who knows after today I might have more hot water for a shower or my husband’s laptop may work better than before, all because of those spur of the moment mishaps.

Consider today, how you may spur someone towards love and doing good deeds.

Do you know someone who  complains about something needing done?  Encourage them to take matters in their own hands, talk to those involved, and act in a loving manner to accomplish the deed.
