Rain, Rain, and More Rain - Pass It On
Wednesday it rained. Friday, yesterday, it rained. Today is Saturday, and the forcast isn’t hard to predict -it’s raining outside.
So much for a nice weekend. Instead, I’ll be dragging three kids in the rain to run errands, and then hopefully coming home to a nice hot cup of tomato soup. Because what else do you have on a rainy day?
There are people I know who say that when they are feeling depressed it feels like it is raining every day inside their soul. They feel drenched with sadness, cold and lazy, and their outlook on life become bleak.
It’s been raining for days outside the safe closures of our home, but what do we do when the rain moves inside and the little black rain cloud follows us everywhere? Rain clouds, like our sadden mood, can be hard to shake off, run away from, hide from, or make disperse.
A dear friend of mine’s brother loves to paint miniatures. He finds himself focusing on something else long enough to forget how he is feeling and get him through that mood shift. Someone else I know, likes to color in coloring books using colored pencils. No, this person isn’t a child.
On rainy days, I like to keep my kids occupied and prevent fighting by doing varies crafts and reading books with them.
What do you do to pass the time on a rainy day or uplift your mood when they are bleak?
(Don’t forget to keep that Easter Lily passing on to the next recipient.)
