Pass It On - Chocolate Bunny

Published by mrschadt at 6:46 am under Looking Out, Multiply It Edit This

I have to admit, I love Chocolate, and every Easter I look forward to getting my 2lb Chocolate Bunny.  Yet, my chocolate bunny usually doesn’t last very long, perhaps not even a week after I’ve received it.

Now every year, I stock my kids Easter baskets with a chocolate bunny, a few chocolate eggs, a new outfit, a book, and usually a toy.  You’d think it was Christmas all over again, except Santa doesn’t bring chocolate bunnies.

No, Santa brings three gifts in our home to each child. Just like the three wise-men who came bearing gifts when Jesus was born.  Easter, however, is the last chapter of Jesus’s life and the beginning of another book entirely.  There was no
chocolate bunnies for Jesus - just a cross.

With one week until Easter, as you go out and shop to prepare to fill your children’s baskets, leave the chocolate bunnies in the store.  Today, pick up a cross, maybe even a chocolate one, a book, and pass it on.  Share with your children the cross which gave us salvation and retell the story of how Jesus lives.

Give a cross to a co-worker,a  friend, or even a stranger, write a simple message of “He lives” - pass it on.

The chocolate factory will still make their money if you buy a cross instead of a bunny, and the generations to come after us will know the story and pass it on for those yet to come.

Who will you give your cross to today?  What message shall you spread?
