Free Clothing - Pass It On
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NKJV)
As human beings we have three basic needs - food, clothing, and shelter.
In the hard economic times of today, even these cause people to struggle. Not only are people losing their homes due to lost jobs and foreclosure, but they are stretching every dollar to provide food on the table. Clothing is just something that falls last on the category of priorities, even though we all know Adam and Eve were content running around Paradise naked until they took a bite of fruit.
Yesterday and today, a fellow freecycler is giving away free clothing. It’s not something you may see everyday, but he fall into an over abundance of clothing and instead of trying to sell it and make a profit - he’s offering it free to those seeking clothing.
This man, like many other organizations are starting to reach out to people in a new way. Many church organizations in my area have also began collecting and disturbing clothing to others - FREE.
So how do you find free clothing?
1. Join your local free-cycle at freecycle.org.
2. Gather your community together have your own clothing drive to supply free clothing to others.
3. Have a clothing swap within your groups or organizations.
Every piece of clothing helps. Don’t just throw out that shrunken sweater - pass it on to someone who can wear it.
Today, look inside your closet. What clothes can you give away, or what types of clothing are you lacking and in need of? Can you be like the man mentioned above and share your abundance? Will you seek free clothing where it is offered? Or will you be the one in your community to organize a free clothing drive for others?
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galetions 6:9 KJV)
