Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) in the PALM of My Hand
I believe there comes a time in all of us when we need to look inside ourselves and decide upon positive change. Zacchaeus did it on the day he decided to come down from the sycamore tree and open his door to Jesus. For all those who may not know the story, Zacchaeus was a short man, but he was a tax collector. His profession made him an outcast amongst the people, even today we don’t think fondly of tax collectors. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus and because he short and could not see over the crowd, he climbed a tree. Jesus came upon Zacchaeus in the tree. Jesus said, “Zaccheus get down from there, I’m coming to your house today.”
When Jesus left the home of a Zacchaeus, Zacchaeus was a changed man.
There is something inside all of us that we want to change. Maybe it’s an addiction, a bad habit, or a self respect issue leaning on our personal appearance.
For me, it’s been my time management. I’m like the white rabbit, I’m always late, getting dates mixed up, information scattered, and working on several projects at a time with no organization. Because I know that I am a unstructured person, I know I have to work very hard to be more organized and structured than those who already are.
For me, that means a daily planner. I’ve tried several. My latest was Flylady’s control journal at flylady.com. But the journal itself got tossed aside because for me, it wasn’t practical. I didn’t fit in all the places I needed to take it, and I was still late because it didn’t scream out to me “You have an appointment, you need to leave in 15 minutes.” to keep me on time.
So I decided to make a positive change - a PALM PILOT PDA. I’ve never used one, but reading up on them, PDA’s are small, they fit into the palm of your hand, and they alert you when you have an appointment. Great, but for me, the price tag was’nt so great.
I was blessed enough to send a request out to my fellow freecycler’s this week and yesterday I received a PDA from a kind gentleman in my area. Something that was no longer being used was passed on to me, and I’m grateful.
Today, I plan on getting familiar with my PDA and hoping it will help me make the positive change I’m trying to achieve and pass on to my household.
What positive changes are you trying to achieve in your life? How will these changes effect those you pass them onto by example?
